Heard on the news....

I hear on the newd that a British study showed that doctor's ties and lab coats are swimming in dangerous bacteria! Gross huh? Some of the stuff they found was pretty serious too like staph. So now doctors in Britain are being directed to ditch the ties and to wear short sleeves.

They didn't say what institute conducted this study, but it would be something to bring up at your CF clinic!

Yes, I read that in the paper too. I was going to cut out and give to my center.

I know a while back (a year or more) the news reported about how germie mens neckties are - they don't wash them after every wear like other articles of clothing. So my friend and I think about that everytime we see a doctor with a tie.

I'm sure that within the next few years we will see this change - all personel will be required to sanitize their hands (CF patient or not), and they will oust the ties and long sleeves for everyone. ...and They wonder why so many are developing staph in hospitals, aside from CFer's...
