Heartburn and vinager

I don't really get heartburn at regular intervals or with certain foods, but I read somewhere the about 10-15 mL of vinager cures heartburn almost instantly. The theory is I guess that there isn't ENOUGH acid in the stomach, my dad tried it and his was gone right away, he said it tasted horrible though, go figure. I haven't had heartburn in a while so I can't test it out.

For any of you suffering with heartburn and zantac isn't enough (that stuff never works for me), try a tablespoon of vinager instead!

my mom has her faults-but she is a very wise woman when it comes to healthfood, herbs, vits, and natural remedies.

it have major bad reflux-and i had an endoscopy that dx my reflux as very serious and alot worse. she just told me to use apple cider vinegar the other day. she said to put 1 tblsp in a glass of water and add honey if i need the taste.

i have heard from many many sources that its not too much acid-is not enough of the right acid, and its bad acids. its been compared to if you wash yur face too much, you strip all oils and yur body starts to overproduce oil and it gets worse, right? thats what many antacid or reflux meds do-they kill acid but they kill acid we need too and the body starts to overproduce it!

I love vinegar, and put it on my food whenever possible, but I've never even thought of taking it for heartburn. I'll have to try that sometime.

Apple Cider Vinager is healthy to drink or eat. Braggs is a good brand to buy.

Ok take this with a grain of salt. I did this with my old lungs in the early days but since I got transplanted, I am not trying anymore weird stuff but..........

when I went to an accupuncurist many moons ago she told me the first sign of a cold inhale from a huge pot Apple cider vinager. She told me to put in a teaspoon of it.

It was great for my sinuses at the time and my doctor told me it was ok for me to try. I only did it a few times but WOW

I forgot all about this. I am sure you non transplant patients might do well with this.

About twenty years ago a friend of mine told me to inhale from a neb white vinager and my nurse said others were doing it. So I tried it and wow I coughed up some stuff and I thought it was from the vinager.I was scared and stopped. I do not remember the reason why I stopped. I do not think it is a good idea at all to neb any vinager.

I think there might be some sugar in the apple cider vinager and if you neb it how can the apple sugars be good for you. Sounds dangerous to me and the lungs are delicate.

The things I tried through desperate measures I could write a book.

Well Heloise recommends it for just about everything so I am sure there are medicinal benefits! As with everything tho I am sure it varies from person to person as to the results!

My mum has also recommended drinking vinegar with honey when you have a cold, that it will help clear you out. I'm going to try that next time I start to feel sick.

My mom recommended this to me when I was pregnant and got heartburn a lot (she did it when she was pregnant). I couldn't take the taste so I would just drink milk, it seemed to help. But my sister did it often when she was pregnant and swore it helped.
