Help a Dream Come True

This isn't CF-related, but it's our kind of thing, I think. I originally posted it on my blog, but then I wanted to make sure everyone saw it, so I deleted the blog and pasted it here.

I saw this group on facebook and I really liked it, so I wanted to share it here. There's a 7 year old with leukemia who wants to be in the book of world records for the most birthday cards. He turns 8 on May 30th. If you can take just 5 minutes to get him a card and send it, it'll mean one more (hell, even make one if you prefer). Though the current record is VERY high (350 million cards), what an easy way to make a little boy's day!

This one is actually true, I looked it up. I'm going to post the address, the facebook group, and his actual site.

Thanks for posting this, Em. I will be having my second graders make him cards tomorrow, and putting them in the mail right away so they get to him in time. They have been so compassionate about Emily, I'd like to raise their awarness of OTHER people with needs.

Emily,
Do Guiness Book of Records still allow these kind of records in? I ask because theres a chain email (Im sure MOST of you have read it one point or another) about a sick boy with cancer who wants to get the most cards/postcards to get into the GBOR, but I read that Guiness no longer accept such entries

Not trying to cause a ruckus here or anyting, I'm just more curious then anything else!! x

Ok, whoops, not that I was doubting the authenticity of this boy's wish, I was just wondering if it was possible!

They did a segment on him during Hockey Night in Canada a couple months ago. He seemed like a pretty cool kid. I'm interested to see if he gets the record. At the time, they said he had almost filled his uncle's garage from floor to ceiling with boxes of cards.

I haven't a clue, really. I'm not sure he'll get enough by his birthday to qualify anyway. I just like the idea of one boy getting thousands of cards from people he doesn't know.
