Help with my new Drug

Anyone ever go on Gentimicin? My ENT just put me on it to spray into my sinuses.

Anyone ever experienced any side effects? I'm a little concerned about going on it. I'm on SO much crap right now. I'm worried about side effects and this liver of mine frying up. My ENT basically gave it to me to tide me over till I have my sinus surgery next month.

FYI: I'm on Tobramcyin IV, and Cefapime (Ceftaz) IV, Cipro, and Zithromax. among my usual routine stuff.

Hi Christian,

Gentamycin is in the same category as tobramycin and amikacin. They work well on psuedomonas in the lungs and in the sinuses. I've heard it is very successful. It sounds like a lot of the same medicine if you are already on Tobra IV, but rinsing the sinuses with it is more direct.

I've been on gentamyacin before. My ENT puts me on is before my sinus surgeries (7) also. It won't do anything to your liver. You should only use it for about 4 to 6 weeks than stop.
