Well my 2 yo had a high fever like that about a month ago. Went up to 104 as well. Never had any other symptoms except the fever (and acting like she had a high fever though most of it was overnight) and vomiting once. There are thousands of viruses out there and some of them can cause high fevers. I wouldn't worry about it as long as it can be brought down by meds and she is acting ok when not feverish.
