Hi to the Forum,
I accidently left some pulmozyme out for about 36hrs. so I called the pharmacy and they said something that I never heard of. They said... It could be left up to a month at room temp. and it would still be ok. I really want to find out how long because I just got some from them sent UPS and it was warm when it got here. I thought it was only 24hrs. Does anybody know the correct answer to this question?
Thanks in advance,

Here is what is listed under the Genetech/Pulmozyme link:

What else should I know about storing and using Pulmozyme?

Pulmozyme must be stored in the refrigerator at 2-8°C (36-46°F) and protected from strong light. It should be kept refrigerated during transport and should not be exposed to room temperatures for a total time of 24 hours. The solution should be discarded if it is cloudy or discolored. Pulmozyme contains no preservative and, once opened, the entire contents of the ampule must be used or discarded. Patients should be instructed in the proper use and maintenance of the nebulizer and compressor system used in its delivery.

Pulmozyme should not be diluted or mixed with other drugs in the nebulizer. Mixing of Pulmozyme with other drugs could lead to adverse physiochemical and/or functional changes in Pulmozyme or the combined products.

Thank you, I did call custumer service and they confirmed that the stuff I left out would not be usable. They are also calling the pharmacy and checking on the shipping process for pulmozyme.

Maybe they got it confused with Tobi, which can be left out for a month. I once went to pick up DS's Pulmozyme and it was sitting on the pharmacy counter, warm -- the tech tried to tell me they JUST unloaded it from the morning delivery (to try to cover her butt). Hasn't happened since.
