hi all, I was wondering how much sputum does an adult CFer spit per day if you can measure it. I am 21 and i spit about 250 ml daily with heavy pseudomonas growth and its always dark green at first and then goes lighter. I please need your answers.
I'm afraid I won't be able to give you the precise answer, each individual will have different amts of sputum depending on what "bugs" they have.Mine, too is thicker/darker first thing in the morning, then it gets lighter & I cough less as the day goes on unless I've been in high humidity or excercising, etc.I've never really measured my amt, but am guessing on a normal day 1/3 cup, again, just a guess??? If I have a cold and/or infection, of course that amt will be more.
