How to do a fundraiser?

So, we have a great plan to do a fundraiser. My cousin is the olympic softball picture, Jennie Finch. She does camps all over the country, not to mention is pretty well known for her talent, kindness and beauty.

So my question to you is where do I start with a fundraiser???? I have the who, and the what (She is going to do a paid mini clinic, and then some type of speaking engagement at a dinner). BUT WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE!!! I am not a detail oriented person...I can see the big picture, but...how in the world do you get something like this off the ground? I know that there are many of you that have done big events, but --I need help!!!

So if you have any advice to offer, I would greatly appreciate it. If it is easier to talk on the phone PM me and I will give you my phone number or give me yours to call. I am really excited about the possibility of using her name to help raise money to combat CF, but I am going to need a ton of help!!

I would start with talking to your local CFF chapter. They have a lot of resources and will often help with the man power for the fundraiser as well as help with the details.

We do a big dinner dance once a year and they have been a ton of help.

With ours I just started with a letter writing campaign to get donations and the rest sort of work its self out.
