How to start a foundation??

I was told that I could start a foundation at any bank. Im not really sure on how to go about doing this. I was also told that any donation would be tax deductible. If anyone has any info. please let me know. I want to have all the info. I need before going to a bank, or If I can even go to one. Help, please!!! Thank you!!

I do not know about starting a foundation BUT I know the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is an existing non profit tax exempt foundation that encourages families, friends, and people with CF to fundraise to make a difference in those affected by CF. Their website www.cff.org. They are a valuable resource for people with CF and those who love and take care of them. We just had our Great Strides walk yesterday and our walk raised over $16,000 for CF research. We've been fundraising since my daughter was diagnosed. Any questions ask away!
