I don't know what to say man. The only times I have had issues with peeing when I didn't want to was due to me drinking a TON and then going to bed. What does your doctor say about your pee probs? It sounds pretty severe if you are being serious. Out of curiosity man, what is your PFT's at? What supplements do you take? I know it's weird, but i'd like to seriously pick your brain to see whats up before I can give any advice.

Dear Icefisherman

I read from a reliable source last year that using telflon can cause allergic reactions in the body. This man who wrote about this said he had an urge to always urinate in the middle of the night very often. Once he stopped using teflon to cook with, his problems went away.

He did not have your same exact problem but it did sound sort of similar. I myself stopped using teflon and glad that I did. The EPA had warnings on this last year.

So cleaning up is more difficult but in the end it is worth your health.

I hope you get to the bottom of this. Have you ever thought about seeing a chiropractor? Some of them adjust your bladder and can help you prevent incontinence. An old acquaintence of mine got relief from seeing a chiro with this particular problem.

I hope you get some relief soon. Keep on searching. I would call nutritionist and ask them. I would buy a book or two. I am going to see what I can find in my library for you.

HI,

Gosh I know it totally stinks to experience peeing yourself... You and I both know that from coughing so hard you can stretch out your muscles in the bladder area causing a weakness, which usually can cause stress incontience.

What you are talking about sounds more severe then this. I know sometimes when you have a severe bladder infection that this can cause problems.. I would call your doctor, you really need to be evaluated to see if thier is an infection or something pressing on your bladder.

Good luck,

Jennifer

(((Ice))), I understand your frustration. I agree with Jenn..hopefully you get to a good doc who will help you, perhaps a very good urologist. They can do so many tests to see why this is happening to you, whether it be from muscle weakness or even nerve damage. I will be thinking of you. Hugs, Jenn <img src="i/expressions/rose.gif" border="0">

I was under the assumption that Ice had this ongoing for sometime and that his doctor could not find what was causing this. I am sorry for assuming. Ice, go see a doctor like everyone here is saying and get to the bottom of this. I hope they can easily treat you for this. I would bring up the idea of adjusting the bladder when you see him if he or she thinks it is safe.

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.cysticfibrosismedicine.com/htmldocs/CFText/diabetes.htm">CFRD</a>

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.seekwellness.com/conditions/diabetes/incontinence.htm">interesting</a>

Causes of urinary incontinence

For women, thinning and drying of the skin in the vagina or urethra, especially after menopause
For men, enlarged prostate gland or prostate surgery
Weakened pelvic muscles
Certain medicines
Build-up of stool in the bowels
Not being able to move around
Urinary tract infection
Problems such as <u>diabetes</u> or high calcium levels

Editing to say: i didn't make that up, I copied it from some web thingy and underlined my vote!

Okay, not to beat a dead horse or anything but after chatting with you a little I can't help but be thinking about your problem here. So turning to my friend Google, I say "so Google lets see what we can find on CFRD etc." and wow I didn't even know the # of CFers with CFRD was so high, you are at about the right age and going a while without diagnosis might lend itslef to your current problem I think. I think Liz went like a year before they pinned down CFRD for her, you might check with her what her symptoms were, but your symptoms sound suspect to me my friend. Maybe you could print some info on CFRD and take it to your General Doc. I just think since he's not a CF specialist it might be something he would overlook.

Anyway good luck to you, I'll keep my fingers crossed they get to the bottom of this for you, cuz this is not right and it's probably just a symptom of something else, you don't want it to go unchecked especially if it's something that could be managed so easily.

That was a long sentence there at the end and where does the phrase beat a dead horse come from?

Thanks everyone. I'm planning on seeing a doc when my insurance kicks in in june. I have seen a doc about this before, and he basicaly said all the stress on my body from the cf was causing it, and said that it would staiten out when i felt better (at the time i only had problems when i was sick). I don't think my cf is the cause beacause all i can find is stress incont. related to cf. This isn't stress incont. Thanks again littledebbie, so far you thoery seems to make the most sence. I should atleast give me some ideas for the doc. to think about. And sean, I would post something like this if I wasn't serious. I don't take any meds, and haven't seen a cf doctor in 6 years. I don't like doctors, and i don't like meds. I'll do what i have to, to get better. Otherwise i would rather just to go out the way nature intended. Risa, neat info on teflon. who would have thought.
I sure i will get things figured out, i just have been very frustrated. thanks everyone for the support.

hi! I just wanted to tell you that my fiancee had the same exact problem (CF related). He couldn't get through a night without an accident. I know you said you don't like doctors or meds, but his doctor gave him a nasal spray called DDAVP or Desmopressin, and it worked. I'm not sure if you've ever tried this med, but if not, than maybe it's something to think about. He would get really frustrated too, but it really did help. Good luck!
