Im a mother of a beautiful seven year old girl. But I want another baby! But with my cf, I dont know what is safe for me to do about trying to get pregnant! My Bf and I are trying, but I wanna know the best way to take care of myself and my cf, and the safe things to do to help me conceive another baby! Can anyone give me any good advice?

Hi,

I know there are several CF moms on the Pregnancy section who have carried two or more babies. I personally have only carried one (my 2nd son) but I can tell you that two kids are a lot harder than just one! Being that your daughter is a little older might make it easier though. I have two boys under the age of 2. Even though our life is hectic I wouldn't have done it any other way. I think if your health is stable that it shouldn't be a problem. But hopefully some of the other moms will respond to your message and be able to give you better advice.

One thing that I would recommend is having a secure, stable home environment in which to bring up child #2. Kids do much better when the parents are in a committed marriage together. Having both parents be on the same page together is especially important when dealing with a chronic illness. I hope that you will make the right decisions for your child and potential other children. Parenthood is not to be taken lightly.

Have you spoken to your CF doctor about this? A lot of the meds you can't take, or if you do, they carry a risk of harming the fetus.
