Inhaled Colistin

I mix my own and I used to do 150 mg, mixed with 2.5 cc's sterile water, then inhale the whole thing like that, twice a day. Now I'm told to mix 5 cc's of sterile water into the 150 mg colistin, but only inhale half in the am and half in the pm so it ends up being 75mg twice a day. What does everyone else do?

I'm stressing because I have to start the colistin on Tuesday and the pharmacy still hasn't shipped it. I have some of my old stuff (that's not expired) but it was the old dosing style and the bottles are too small to hold 5 cc's of sterile water. HELP!!

Hmm...Mine says "equivalent to 150 mg* Colistin", and I mix it with 3 ml of sterile water... and inhale twice a day.

5cc of water seems like a lot. Why did they change your dose? Makes you wonder why doses would be so different unless they are based on weight. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">
