Thought this was kinda intersting and didn't even think of it when I created my signature on this site. I listed the boys mutations orinally. The other day, I was in the mood to read some case studies in medical journals etc, so I googled the mutations. Lo and behold, my boys names pop up! The link actually took me to a link back to this site, for one of my posts. So, if you don't want to be googled, you might not want to list your mutations in your signature.... ha ha ha ha. Didn't even realize that would happen when I did it. Thought I would share this.

I, for one, have googled a lot to find out about people. There is enough that we dont have control over with our info & pictures....

Yes pictures. Any pictures can be copied/pasted/saved & placed anywhere by anyone when you post. Most people have NO idea.

We bought something off of Craigs List last year from a lady in Arizona. She had no idea that when she listed it on the Arizona section of Craigs List that THE WHOLE WORLD could read it if they wanted .

Good remind for folks!

Google sends out what's called "crawlers" to every site. Every word is search able.

My family and I are in the habit of googling ourselves every few weeks to make sure to remove any info that we don't want on ourselves.

Where this is particularly important is when a CFer is looking for a job. Employers google interviewees all the time.... and very few companies want to take on the burden of a CFer!
