Ipratropium Bromide (AKA Atrovent)

Hi....

OK, so I've been nebbing Atrovent 2X per day for about 6-7 yrs. now. Well, when I went for my appt. with a new clinic, they said I probably didn't need it cause they said in the majority of patients it dried up secretions. So, now I'm just doing Albuterol without Atrovent, and I'm a little worried. I mean, I did so well on it for so many years, and now to just stop something? What is your experience with Atrovent? Have you used it? Did it work? How did it make you feel? I'm just wondering if others feel "dried up" by it.... I quite taking it a couple days ago, and if anything, I feel a bit wheezy (may or may not be due to the lack of Atrovent, and more to lack of sleep).

Anyone?

Thanks,
Sonia

My experience is: If you do really awesome on something, unless there is data to illustrate a personal reason why you shouldn't, contunue to do what you have been doing to continue to keep doing well. If you show an issue with a culture, sure that's fine. But many docs will change things for no real good reason, and if you have been doing so well, and are continuing to do so well under that treatment, let them lick your beanbag...Only you know what's best for you in general.

Thanks, guys....

Sean,
Lick your beanbag??? Your are hilarious!!! I agree completely though. If I continue to wheeze for more than a day or two, I will start it again.

Anyone else care to share their experience with it?
