Well...I'm home from my business trip...and as I was reading the posts...I had a question. I'm a bit hesitant to post this...but I was wondering why there seems to be a number of misunderstandings...or people who are getting upset lately? It just seems to be a recent thing...but it seems to be counter productive to me! I feel that this site is a sourse of help and encouragement to many...and yes...even a place for people to vent if that's what they need at times. As long as no one is trying to force their opinion on someone else...shouldn't people have the right to voice their opinions? I just feel that we should respect each persons point of view...even if we don't hold the same belief. Oh...by the way...just in case the message title doesn't make sense...the saying has to do with strange and different things and behaviors that happen in conjunction with the full moon. I just thought I'd mention that...just in case anyone had a question about it! Ha! Good to be back!! Chloe

Full moons!! Yay!!!

*ahem* In a more serious response...ugh, trust me. You're probably right about some misunderstandings, but others were more like forced opinions. If you're talking about the issue between EB24 and WinAce, reguarding the prayers comment, I don't think that's anything too major to worry about. If you're referring to the whole big blow-up with ccflewallen, well... All I can say is he had it coming. I was okay with him for a while. But he posted one thread about what he viewed as 'negativity'. When that thread wasn't going in his favor, instead of dropping it, he introduced and whole new one about the same thing. He was pushing not only his religious views, but his opinion of how bad everyone on this site appears to be (at least in his mind). His comment to WinAce about his situation was rather callous. He obviously just typed what came to his head without thinking first, and I think we can all agree that sometimes that isn't the best thing to do. Yeah, some people might have attacked him just as fiercely, but he didn't help matters by pushing the issue. He just kept on digging his own grave.

Hopefully, with the addition of the religious forum, there will be less conflict.

As far as the full moon thing, I'm on IV's right now, and when that happens I tend to get a little more 'peeved' about certain things (especially since I'll be on them for Halloween...3rd year in a row, dammit!). Just speaking for myself (or trying to give myself an excuse, whichever floats your boat) ^_^

Lilith,
Do you have a specific pattern of times of the year when you get sick? I noticed you say this is the third year in a row you have been on IVs around or on Halloween. Well, i to tend to get sick around this time of year (actually a bit earlier, but always between mid august and mid october). I havent got it down to a science yet, but i think it has something to do with weather and late summer, early fall allergies? I think I am highly allergic to ragweed. What are your thoughts?

Sunkistdrinker,

I agree with you. I completely believe that the weather has very much (if not everything) to do with my spikes of infections. I think I've got my pattern down. I usually get sick between January and February, and then again in the fall, right around late September to late October. Sometimes I'll end up having to have another round of IV's in early December, but not often enough to count. I've never had an allergy test, but I'm pretty sure I'm also allergic to ragweed and pollen. I've always had more trouble with my sinuses than my lungs themselves. Unfortunately, the allergies cause the post-nasal drip, which ends up in the lungs anyway. Very irritating...

Sorry to hear that you're having a similar issue. I live in FL, and I noticed that after Hurricane Wilma passed, both my sister(w/out CF) and myself have been struggling with bad allergies. I think it stirred up the atmosphere and, along with the natural changing of seasons, helped to fuel the fire. Hopefully, this allergy season will pass quickly for the both of us. Good luck, hope you feel better soon!

Lilith,

Ditto about the post nasal drip. I am recovering from strep throat, and the drainage was dreadful, to the point where my cough has now changed. When I breath real deep, I feel the congestion pretty bad. However, when I cough it up, it's unusually thin and hard to bring up? Normally, it's thicker and easier to cough up. Does that sound odd to anyone?
