Quick question.....I only use Pulmozyme a couple of times of week. It is enough to help me, but not cause any bleeding.

I am going to be starting 3% Hypertonic Saline on the days I don't do Pulmozyme.
My question is....can I use the same nebulizer cup for both meds? I will be rinsing and boiling the cup before each use. Ex. Monday-HS, boil/sanitize Tuesday-Pulmo, boil/sanitize, etc.

I'm just being lazy--I don't want 3 nebs around. I can't think of any reason why it would be a problem, but I would like to hear if anyone else has any insight.

I would think you can.
I always used the side stream for everything exept antiotics, only rinsed it in between. And when i got the Eflow i used Pulmozyme and HS in the same one (with rinsing it out in between) and Colistine (antibiotic) in another.

I asked my dr the same thing. She told me I had to have a different ned cup for each. She said something about Pulmozyme being thicker than the other two (HS and albuterol), I think...that was over a year ago and I have just always used seperate. (I'm wishing I could remember what the reason was more clearly)

I would think if you're washing/sterilizing it between uses wouldn't be a big deal... Think the problem occurs if you use a neb for one thing and then follow up by using it with another thing -- specificially pulmozyme 'cuz you don't want it getting mixed in with something else and being less effective.

I don't use the same ones though, in a pinch when we were at someone else's house and the tobi neb cup got clogged or was faulty I have done so. Otherwise each neb cup is labled -- P, T or left blank (duoneb).
