Is this ok?

My kids and I both got the H1N1 vaccine via injection back in November (kids also got their booster).

Tomorrow my daughter is having a friend over and her mom just called to say she has to drop her off instead of having her ride the bus with my daughter-because her daughter is getting the H1N1 booster nasal mist.

My question is-is it ok for me to be around this since I have already been vaccinated? She'll probably be here for about 1.5 hours playing.

From listening to the H1N1 videos on this site. I wouldn't risk it. The nasal mist (live virus) isn't recommended for cf people. Who really knows if you are innoculated or not. A person sheds live virus for a while (a week?) after having the nasal spray.

I am sure your daughter has been around countless kids that have been both vaccinated (many of whom likely got the mist vaccine) as well as been about to come down with the flu (and shedding virus all over the place before showing signs of illness) at school. Due to how pandemic the flu was this fall, you've probably also been around many people who'd been exposed to the flu and were asymptomatically shedding virus, without getting sick yourself since getting vaccinated in November.

I would take those factors into consideration before canceling... but that is just me. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> If she comes, you can make a point of having them play with things that can be easily wiped down and have them stay away from you.
