IVP (Iodine Test) and Ports

I am having an IVP done this Monday to look at my kidneys for stones. I was wondering if anyone has had an IVP done and they used your port for access. The doctor who ordered the test said that they can use it, but we all know what the doctor says and what the radiologist does are two different things. I wouldnt have a port if my veins were in good enough shape to handle an IV. Plus I dont see why they couldnt use it. I am not allergic to shellfish. I have had IVPs done before but it was 8 yrs ago and my veins were in a lot better shape. So, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this and what did they let you do? Thanks <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
