Hi Julie,

I was looking at your baby registry online again today. I noticed you changed it, but I don't think you have car seats on there?? Or a stroller.. I actually don't think I saw triplet strollers in that store..but I was just wondering.

also, I was wondering if you looked into the WIC program in your state, you can even qualify for help now being pregnant.

I know in my hospital, (not sure if it is nation wide) Similac has the contract with WIC.. I am doing my OB rotation right now and today I saw twins born, I kept thinking of you and Mark and thinking about the three babies...

I hope you are feeling well. Give an update when you can.

Thinking of you,

Jennifer

Your so sweet Jen!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

You are right, there aren't triplet strollers on babiesrus, nor do they sell them in the stores. We are looking at this stroller <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://http://www.strollers.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=689">http://www.strollers.com/store...duct.php?productid=689</a>.

Also, the carseats we want aren't available at babiesrus either, this is what we are planning on getting <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.gracobaby.com/catalog/product.aspx?modelNumber=8649COT2&CategoryID=1">http://www.gracobaby.com/catal...=8649COT2&CategoryID=1</a>

I did get on WIC, 2 weeks ago. Every little bit helps!!!! It just sucks that I'v already used all the coupons and eaten all the food it provides. I'm appealing our denial for food stamps. I think EVERY pregnant woman, whether pregnant with 1 or 6 should be considered to have a family that size (including the unborn children) for FOOD STAMP purposes. Just like for pregnancy medicaid, which I (thankfully) qualify for. I understand why they don't count until birth for things like housing and cash assistance, but when you are eating for 1+ however many you are pregnant with, it really adds up. Our hearing isn't until the end of May so I'll let you know how it goes <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I'm feeling good, thanks so much for asking. I'm just still really tired. My house is dirty and I want to clean it up so bad (I am an anal clean freak-just as mark <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> but he is the complete opposite of me, little piles everywhere) but I am not suppose to vacuum or anything. Only fold laundry sitting and unload the dishwasher/do the dishes. OHhhhhh I wish we had a maid <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Thanks for thinking of me, hope all is well with you. How's the end of school going? Are you counting down? I know Mark is, I can only imagine you are too!!!!

"We even clean the garage!"

Poor julie, I know what it's like to be a clean-freak who can't clean! My wife is the opposite to me, too! But the MIL is *Oh, God* bad!! A clean-freak's nightmare!! Got tons of dish soap, but never uses it while washing dishes *gulp*; and other odds and ends for cleaning, all in excellent condition!! (The vacuum cleaner is so clean, you can eat from it!! but not suggested cause it's been sitting in the corner for so long! hehe)
I hope Mark does excellent for his finals! Good luck, Mark!
Jen, your hospital means the one you are doing rotation at, or go to for the CF?
You are also out soon, right? Was it for an RN, or LPN? (Sorry, kinda forgot)
And, when you say you saw twins born, were you right there in the room???
If so, must've been an experience, but I'd probably pass out like a typical "father"!

Oh good Julie, I am glad you were able to get on WIC. Once the babies are born, it will be a huge blessing... they are great about helping with formula...

I LOVE the carseat pattern that you picked out.. It is adorable...I wasn't able to see the strollers because it said [page unavailable]

I have to admit, I am not a neat freak, except when I am sick.. or something..l then everything has to be in order, or it makes me nuts... sometimes I can be laying in bed doing an IV, and I see a spec of something somewhere.. and I have to get up to fix it. But when I am healthy. I could easily pile stuff up to the ceiling and not care.

I wish you had a maid too... have you considered asking your doctor for a home health aid. I think you probably qualify for one soon. SOon as you are on bed rest or something, NOT That a home health aid is a maid... that is not what I am saying, I used to be one and I helped my patients with what ever they needed, food shopping, house cleaning etc... JUst a thought...

Yes, I have three MOndays left till I graduate... 2 more tests till I take my boards.. three weeks left..wahoooooooooooo... I am so nervous about all the changes that are going on though... as you know I have a job at my work on a post op floor, but just this week went on an interveiw with one of the biggest hospitals in NJ and the only one approved as the state Childrens hospital, anyway, I applied in the Pediatric ER, it was an amazing experience. my interview was three hours, the pay is 10,000 a year more then I was offered at my work, and I was offered a butt load of money at my work.

I just don't know what to do... I wasn't officially offered the job, but was asked when I can start....the lady hugged me, and told me to expect to hear from them soon.

I of course don't know where to work or what to do, I have so much security where I work already...

anyway, enough about me...I bet Mark can't wait to be done with school, I know the feeling, though I am looking into Masters bridge programs at the moment.....

Have a good day. Rest, and try to close your eyes to the mess.. what matters most is the health of you and the babies..

Fred I am going to be a Registered Nurse, and the formula that WIC is using at the moment is at the hospital I work at, but it is also where I am doing my OB rotation at the moment.
Love,

Jennifer

OOPS, it posted before I wanted it to.

Wow, 10000 more a year... that's definately a thinker. But definately have to consider what you already mentioned, you have so much security already where you are, more flexible hours as you mentioned, a boss who understands having a medical condition firsthand...

Sure, that's a lot more money, but are they going to be understandable when you need some extended time off, when you are sick, when you have to go to appointments unexpectedly? Will your boss be as understanding? What about other co-workers? Just stuff to consider.

I'm going to ask for a home health aid, I am actually already on bedrest, I have had more bleeding and they are just concerned. The babies look fine, but they see some areas aroud Baby A's placenta that hasn't 100% fused yet and that's what COULD be causing the bleeding. Plus the identicals are separatd by sacs, which is good, but they ARE sharing a placenta so they are worried about twin to twin transfusion so I will be watched VERY closley.
Other than that, they don't know what the problem is.... I don't necessairly need any "medical" home health aid stuff, but maybe I can apply for it, and if they are WILLING to do some other things, I'll ask... even give them a little extra money on the side (I know that's not "allowed" but our house is a disaster and I can't stand it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

3 more Mondays........yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Go jen, Go jen, Go jen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Babies r-us does have a triple stroller. I am not sure though whether it will hold the baby carriers though. <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000CED8J/qid=1144428645/br=1-7/ref=br_lf_ba_7//102-4889905-7738546?v=glance&s=baby&n=542436">http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi...glance&s=baby&n=542436</a> I have seen them in the store by me but I have needed to check them out till now.

Hey Julie,

That link did work, I was able to see the stroller.. It is really, really nice. Does it have something that you can use to convert it over to a toddler stroller when they grow out of the infant seat? or do you need a new stroller.. I love it it is so cute.. I can just see you pushing all three babies in there.. what a work out.... AFTER that who needs a gym???

You are right in your replies, and that is why it is so hard to leave... I have it so good where I am at, though the job they offered me isn't what I asked for, my boss promises me she will move me down to the ER after my year commitment, as long as there is a spot open.

I really do think that you qualify for a home health aid, even though you don't think you need medical help, you do, if you think about it, meals cooked, laundry done, bathroom cleaned, those are considered you ADL's (activities of daily living) and if you can't do them because you have a medical condtion, you qualify...

You may have to be a little pushy about it, it isn't like you are asking for them to pay for an RN to come, just a health aid helper...

anyway, I know bleeding is not uncommon in the first few months of pregnancy, and you are doing the right thing staying in bed.. I wish I lived closer, I would come clean your house.... but for now, till you get help.... let it go, close your eyes, don't look, let those babies get nice and settled in....

I am going to work now, I am going to ask our PEDS social worker what she knows about other options for you, I know it is a different state, but some things are the same state to state.

Oh, I wanted to know if it was okay if I wrote to the Pampers company about you guys, I really think they would be willing to do something..??

Talk to you soon,

Jennifer

Julie,
I want to thank you for giving me one more thing to look at online(sarcasam). I can't stop looking at stuff for the babies. Have you checked e-bay for strollers? they have a ton of them.

Leeann, I forgot to mention, I did see that triplet stroller on babiesrus (excuse my memory loss x3 please <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> ) but it didn't appeal to us because you can't put carseats in it. Initially, that is what is most important to us. Also, since we are going to have tiny babies, the infant seats will last us a bit longer than usual. I've talked to some other triplet moms and they said they used theirs for 12-15 months vice the usual 9-12 months.

Jen, as far as the one with the carseats that snap in... no, unfortunately it doesn't covert or have snap in bigger seats (wouldn't that be a cool idea). We have been browsing ebay for one, but they make 2 different models. One that fits graco seats and one that fits evenflo seats. All I've seen online for a while is the used ones that fit the evenflo seats (we've already decided on graco) AND parents want to sell the carseats/stroller together. Just the frame itself is $350.00 including shipping, so not a bad price considering what the other options are.

I'm looking for a triplet group in my area, I think I've found one but I'm waiting for an email back. Maybe someone who has kids who've outgrown theirs will sell just the frame to me. I am really iffy about used carseats... used ANYTHING else I will gladly, joyously <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> accept, but not carseats... just for the safety factor.

As far as when they outgrow the infant seats, we are trying to decide on the roundabout or just a typical triplet stroller. Here's the roundabout <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.tripletconnection.org/runabout_strollers/index.html">http://www.tripletconnection.o...t_strollers/index.html</a>. The benefit of the roundabout is that they can be used for jogging (which I LOVE to do) whereas the regular triplet stroller is just that... a stroller. So we are really thinking about the roundabout. It's pricey... but we have about 18 months from now before we'll need to make another stroller purchase (see, there are things about money to look forward to <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">).

Leeann, I hope you are enjoying looking at baby stuff <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Keep me informed (if you have time) if you find anything interesting on ebay or anywhere else. The more eyes the better <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Jen, that would be great if you could ask the PEDS nurse questions, every little bit helps. I would really appreciate that. On Monday I am going to call my ins. company and ask them about home health aids. I don't need one quite yet (or am I in denial??) but I like to plan ahead.

Oh and yes, write to ANYONE you wish about us <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I know that sounds rediculious but when you need help, you just HAVE to ask because you'll never know when you are going to get it. I started to learn that lesson when Mark and I hit some financial difficulities a few years ago, but we crawled out of that and I *hope* I've put our experiences to good use by helping others who are where we have been. It just sucks that we "are there" again. But yes, please feel free to share our story, website... my email address with whatever baby companies you feel might be interested. Email me or PM me if you need specifics. Help is all we need now <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Hey,

I love the Runabout stroller.. It is adorable. you could take that just about anyway..

I agree with you about the car seats. actually they say never to buy a used car seat unless you can be sure of the history of the car seat...meaning... being sure that is was never in a car accident etc. Even dropping it really hard could throw the saftey features off.

I didn't get to ask the Pediatric social worker about any options, I didn't see her yesterday and we were so busy with so many sick kids that I didnt get to call her.. but I will talk to her.

Anyway, I am going back to sleep I am beat..

Have a good day,

Jennifer

Debbie,

I LOVE the picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reminds me of my mother and I talking last week. She kindly reminded me of when I was about 5 or 6 and she had special ordered me gender correct dolls for my birthday because I had been asking for about a year. 3 of them to be exact, they came as a triplet set because that's what I requested. (you could get a singleton, twins, triplets, quads..). I asked for a boy and two girls. She jokingly asked me if I had a premonition about my future. Haha.

Of course Mark is sitting there, "...See, it is your fault, you knew when you were a kid that you were going to have three, I just knew it". Of course half joking but it was funny. I think you would have had to be there to get the humor, but he keeps telling me "your darn fertile body got us in this mess".

So, thanks for sharing the picture.

Jen, don't worry about the Pediatric social worker. Just when you have time is fine. I really do appreciate you doing that though!!!

Christi, I actually haven't seen the carseat in person (mark has, but you know guys when it comes to explaining stuff like that...), but I have seen one that has microfiber and some extra "molded" padding. Is that kind of what this one has?
