It's five in the morning. I've spent all night in the ER with Brian because he's been puking and had a fever all day. Wonderful. It took 6 hours for them to say, it could just be the stomach flu with really bad timing, or it could be the early stages of an infection related to the surgery. I wanted to slam my face into a wall. Thanks for all your help! They got him stoned on pain meds and sent him home saying "If it gets worse come back." Fabulous. They did a CT to make sure he didn't have an absess. Fine, GOOD even. But they made him drink oral contrast. Yeah, give a guy who's been barfing that nasty stuff and tell him he has to hold it down. Good thinking. They wanted him to drink 2 bottles, he barely got one down. They said that was good enough, well it wasn't, they couldn't see. So they ended up giving him IV contrast anyway!!!!!!!!

OH Dear.....Did you actually speak with HIS doctor or you went straight to the ER? I dont want to undermind the trauma doctors, but they are handling a million different things & sometimes you need someone else. I hope it is a simple bug that comes/goes quickly. Keep us updated!

I hope he feels better soon. I also hope you're both looking after
yourselves emotionally, it sounds like you're both going
through such a stressful time..... you're in my thoughts.
I am sorry.
Hope he feels better soon.
And don't forget to take care of yourself too - that sitting around in ERs can be quite grueling.

Let us know how it goes and all...

Keeping you both in my heart....

Oh, I hope this is just a mild case of the flu and nothing else. Keep us posted.

Try to stay strong for him, and stay positive.
Hopefully its a bug-there's a good chance it could be!
I know how stressful and annoying the ER can be. So-long and stressful, and none ever knows what's going on either.
Keep goin on.

Froggy, I'm sorry to hear this about Brian. I really hope that it's just the flu. Of course not wishing the flu on anyone but with the two possibilities, I would choose the flu.

I'm also sorry to hear about your experience in the ER. Which one did you go to, providence, Evergreen, Northwest????? I personally don't like providence. They did see me right away when I had the spotting, but they started a 16gage IV in me (YES 16 gage, and never used it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and they had the doctor do the ultrasound instead of a tech because they could get me out of there sooner and free up a room. EXCUSE ME?????????????? Oh boy, some ER doctors mentality....

I'll be praying for both of you and for this bug to pass (because that's what it is, just a bug, think positive!)

You know it can take a few days for food poisoning to set in. I'm sure it's the flu or that crappy hospital food he ate earlier in the week. I'll keep you both in my prayers.
