i went to the bathroom 2day, after holding it in all day (i know, that's probably bad). well, when i wiped i noticed a pretty good bit of blood on the toilet paper, so i looked at my poop. it had blood and mucus in it. should i be worried?

Hmm...hemoroids maybe? I've had that once or twice, where my movement (as gross as this sounds) has been so hard that its torn me a bit.

LOL. I should have posted this anonymously.

Mucus shouldn't really worry you. That's fairly normal. The blood might be a big problem, it might not. I never really care when I pass blood on the potty, because I have external shallow problems that bleed sometimes when I use the bathroom. If it's internal, it could be a problem. If it's a cut called a fissure or hemmorhoid or something, then it's not a big deal, just an annoyance. Go see a proctologist if you're unsure. It sounds less than cool, but it's really not that bad. I've been to one several times.

Maybe you had shallow fissures before. I've had fissures that have been able to turn the entirety of the toilet bowl water red.

If in doubt check it out. I can also tell you that I had that & bled so bad into the toilet that I thought I had my period. It was bad enough that when I would pas gass it would leave blood stains on my underwear. Of course I didnt go seek help because it wasnt painful & it didnt stick around plus I know that I have hemeroids.

i just went to the bathroom again and there was a lot more blood this time. like the amount when i start my period. i'm <b>not </b>in any pain though and there's not any itching or burning. i just read about internal hemorroids, and it kinda sounds like that. anyone ever had those? this is the first time this has ever happened to me. i am a member, but kinda embaressed to log in.

Dude, my as bleeds alot. It's hemroids.
My doc keeps sayin to go to the emergency room every time it happens, but when I went at first... I got a thumb up my ass, and told it was hemroids.
So don't worry too much. It's just another minor annoyance of CF.

You should only really be worried if you have BAD pain with it. Then there's a good chance somethings really wrong. (like, pain inside your stomach)

I know soooooo many wives that have said their husbands see blood and wont go to the doctor. That is so strange to me but I think some people just fear what the doctor may say.

Well I had a bleeding bum at work,so I went to the dr the next day- at my wive's insistence, lol-, God it was a lady dr and she stuck her finger up my a@@, well i hope it was her finger, and she asked me ''how does that feel''and I said that it felt fine, I hope she didn't think I was some kind of pervert. After, I couldent stop laughing when i thought about it. It turned out a slight tear, nothing to write home about, only write about it on the web

I would call your doctor just to be on the safe side. The fact that there is no pain leads me to believe that there could be internal problems such as intestinal, colon, etc.

It could be something like colittus, it has to do with anal bleeding, could also be an ulcer, i'd go get checked if i were you..... I know another thing to have to deal with but it's better than loosing too much blood and something worse happening .....

I agree, wouldnt a hemorroid hurt? Wouldnt they feel something and not just see blood? Call the doc just to be sure!</end quote></div>

I dont think all hemeroids hurt or not all the time. I have only had 1 time that I can say my hemeroids hurt or itched & that was after a ton of iv meds & bouts & bouts of diahrea. As a rule I wouldnt know I had them. Maybe I am just "use" ti them & dont remember what its like to not have them like so many other things I deal with. It drives my doctor crazy that I have a high tolerance for pain &/or adapt to whatever the problem is.
