LA air makes my lungs hurt

So I have lived in Los Angeles for the past three years to go to college. And for about the past two years I can really tell a difference from the LA air and other places and the amount it makes my lungs hurt. I was on Naproxen for about a year to reduce inflamation in my lungs so that they wouldnt hurt but about a week and a half ago I had to go off the med because it was making me feel sick. I was just wondering if there are any other people from LA that have this problem, or any other places with bad air and what you do about it.

Thanks

I grew up in LA and yes the air sucks in a big way. The only thing I can think of is using an air purifier in your room at night or wherever you spend most of your time...if it's indoors. Once I moved away about 6 years ago, I could tell a huge difference and kicked myself for not having moved sooner. My PFTs increased, and I felt so amazing a while after I left. It was a night and day difference. Now when I go back, I'm very aware of how bad it is for my lungs. It's just not a good place to be with CF, I don't think, unless you're in the beach area and get the ocean breeze. That's about it. Although, when I was lived in Playa Del Rey, that's when I got a nasty bug that I still have and am trying to fight. LA sucks.
