Lab results routine

My daughter had her yearly CXR and labwork done. i requested that I get a copy of this as i usually do to keep track of everything, which my clinic sent me. My question is does your CF doc go over the results with you? Do you call to make sure everything is normal? The CXR report says it's normal but the lab results are harder to interpret. There is no range of normal for me to figure out if my daughter's results are normal. What do ya'll do? I feel like I'm always double checking everything because I'm afraid things will get overlooked.

We always ask the CF doctor to explain what everything on the lab report means - but we've only been through it a few times because our son w/CF is just over 3 years old so it's all still pretty new and hard to keep straight for us.

I usually get a "normal range" of numbers on the lab report. The couple of times I didn't see that on the report, I emailed my nurse and she sent a better report that DID show a normal range and how my number compared. I would definately continue to ask. Eventually, they should send you a report with "norms". If and when you do get a report like this, you can probably file it somewhere for easy access in case they don't send it everytime with your lab results. Just an idea. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

There's a normal range on our lab results also. I always have to request them, they never send them, nor do they comment on the results. I then send a copy to our CF doctor in the City for his review and he's great about going over them. When I get the copy of the lab results, I always have my MIL review them. She's a retired nursing instructor, so she can tell me what the number mean. L
