Life Insurance

Greetings all, have been a known CF patient since I have been 16 and doing very well for now being 26.

Just purchased a home with my soon to be wife and figured I would stop on here and ask if and how many have been successful in obtaining life insurance?

I only need about 150K for less than 30 years. If it is easier to obtain a policy for less, I would then take out multiple policies through different companies. I just want to make sure the love of my life and future family is set incase anything happens before the mortgage is paid in full due to some CF related issue or something totally different.

Any insight?

Regards,
Joe

i have tried EVERYWHERE to try and obtain life insurance for my almost 3 year old and have been rejected each time. i had heard of people obtaining it through their employer, but i cannot find one agency who is willing to write a policy. good luck! (let me know if you find one)

Through this site-I was able to find out that I should check with my husbands employer (school district). I did-and was able to get a policy for $75,000 with no underwriting. Because I haven't been in the hospital for the last year, didn't have cancer, etc etc-I was able to truthfully answer no to the questions that would otherwise disqualify me. I feel much better having even a little bit of life insurance! It is a term policy that is good for 30 years - so I will be 65 (hopefully!) by the time it ends. I do work and provide income for our family-so it makes me feel better that if anything were to happen they would have at least a little bit of money from me. I pay $22 a month for the $75,000 policy.

The company I have insurance through is American Fidelity Assurance Company.

I think the only way to obtain life insurance is through an employer.

Life insurance companies deem CFers as a lose/lose for them. We are, in the words of several companies "uninsurable".

SUCKS!!!
