Lung cysts/flu/pneumothorax

My boyfriend had pneumothorax and now he has lung cysts, it also seems he has had the flu for about a month. He doesnt have cf or anything so I was a bit surprised that he was having more lung problems than me since I'm the one with cystic fibrosis. Anyway, my question is should I be keeping away from him could there be infections in his lungs that I could catch?

Hi Audrey,
I see from the number of posts under your name that you're relatively new around here. Welcome to the group! I hope you'll find people here who have similar experiences to yours and can be a good source of encouragement to you.

It sounds like your boyfriend may have bronchitis or maybe even walking pneumonia. It's always a good idea to limit the amount of contact you have with someone who has a cough, especially when it's got the other stuff you've mentioned.

Be sure to wash your hands a lot just to be safe, and keep yourself well hydrated. Drink lots of water to make sure that if there is a bug, you can flush it out of your system pretty easily.

Be well,
Lauren
