Lung tx requirements

Hi all, I am just curious what the lung tx requirements are. In the last 2 mos, I have been to 3 dif. centers, and had 3 different FEV1 %. It seems like these numbers should be standardized, or they should just go by the liters. Thanks, Mary

i think the general rule is when one's life quality is very poor and they cannot go without oxygen and the only way to get things better is by getting a new set of lungs. that's what i saw from hearing various stories of transplants, i didn't see any actual pattern of FEV1% numbers and such. basically, when you can't go on with your original lungs, you get to replace them <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">good luck with your transplant, keep us updated! *hugs*
