Medicare Supplemental Insurance

I've had Medicare for my primary insurance and my secondary insurance has been through my husband's work but it's been very expensive and covering hardly anything (Deductible is $5K indiv. & $10K family, plus they don't pay for anything preventative or Pulmozyme OR colistin...) so we're looking at taking me off his policy and getting Medicare Supplemental insurance for me.

I have someone from Humana coming to talk to me next week.

I was wondering if any of you on Medicare have some other "Part D" insurance and who you use. Anyone you want to warn me against? I mostly need it for meds, o2 and when I go on IV's.

You have Medicare? Do you have part B as well? If you do, then your nebs should be covered 80% (mine is, my TOBI, pulmozyme, HTS etc...) I have medicare as my primary with a supplemental out of Mutual of Omaha plan G which covers the remaining 20% of the costs of my nebs. Colistin I hear is starting to be covered under part b but I could be wrong, but I do have a part D plan that actually picks it up, Medco; it might be worth researching. I actually called the company and went down my list of meds to see if they were covered. There are alot of choices out there, go to Medicare.gov to see what plans are available in your area and just research them.
I hope this helps..
