I was just reading treble's post about insurance.

Courtney's father is in the Marine Corps so we are VERY lucky that we do not have to pay for Courtney's doctor bills and medications.

I was SHOCKED to read how much Ultrace cost.

I am going to list Courtney's medicine and if anyone can tell me how much they cost I would greatly appreciate it.

Courtney will receive military benifits till she is 18 or out of college, but I REALLY worry about what we are going to do after that!!

Ultrace MT20 - 6 with meals 4 with snacks

Achipex 20 mg - 1 pill twice a day

Vitamax - 1 pill twice a day

Cyproheptadine 25 mg- 2 tsp 4 times a day

Ursodiol 300 mg- 1 pill twice a day

Albuterol inhaler - as needed

Flowvent inhaler 44 mcg - 2 puffs twice a day

albuterol neb solution- as needed

Thanks in advance for any info!

Sorry I have figures that are outdated and a guess at best.

wow - I'm amazed she's not on any of these med's:
Singulair, Advair, Zithromax, Flonase, Pulmozyme, TOBI...

Does she have little lung involvement? Does she culture p.a.? sinus involvement?

What are Achipex, Cyproheptadine, and Ursodiol treatment for?

...of course only if you feel like sharing :)

Lauren,

Courtney has had very few lung issues. She has never cultured any bugs, her FEVs are 106% , and no major sinus problems. (knocking on wood as I say that)!

Achipex- medicine for acid reflux

Cyproheptadine- medication to increase the appetite

Ursodiol- medication for gallbladder

anony,
Thank you for the link!

Seana:

As a sales representative for Axcan Pharma (makers of Ultrase and ADEK's) I want to make sure that you know that several companies do offer assistance to help with the costs. At Axcan, we offer our Axcan Rx Complete program that will provide for free ADEK's vitamins and free Scandishakes as well. If you have insurance, the Axcan Rx Complete program will also provide you with a $20.00 rebate on Ultrase at the point of sale (no coupons or receipts need to be mailed). Last thing is to try to make sure that you take advantage of the mail order pharmacies. They will most likely have the best insurance coverage for the products that you need and you can usually get a 90 day supply of medications for one copay of your insurance. Hope this helps.

Regards,

Chuck
