Hi Melissa,
I responded to your question on the adult thread, the Pari trek is fine to use with any medication either with the battery or plugged in. I asked my doctor about it before getting one. It is just like a regular nebulizer, only much more compact. Tubing attaches compressor to neb cup and the medication is nebulized over 15-20 minutes, depending on volume. I find it does take a little longer to do the meds with the Pari than with my large compressor. I personally don't have the battery with mine, but it looks like you just attach the nebulizer to the battery if you are not going to use a plug. It does come with very thorough instructions and the person who delivered mine from the home care company went over everything with me when it was delivered. Hope this helps!

Hi, we bought the Pari Trek for my younger daughter last summer. It works great and she loves it. It is way more compact and comes in a case about the size of a camera case. We bought the whole kit, battery and all. We paid about 219.67 for it. Like mentioned before, it is a regular machine, and can be used for TOBI and Pulmozyme or any other med. Ultrasonics can not be used with Pulmozyme and it is not an ultrasonic. You can either use it plugged in to the wall or with a charged battery. If the battery is attached you can not plug it in. The battery covers up where you would attach the DC plug. Nor can you charge it and use it at the same time. It also came with a car plug. My daughter liked it so much that we got our older daughter one too. The insurance co. covered that one. They'd already purchased a neb. for my youngest daughter two years earlier so that one was out of pocket.
