New Prime Minister

In the UK we will soon have a new prime minister. His little baby has CF. There has been loads of talk about it and hopefully he will put a bit more money into gene research and helping medical research. I also know if he does this is will cause bad feeling with other people who have other medical problems. Cant win really. But if all it does is give publicity to cf when at least it makes people more aware.

Yes, I read that too and my first thought was I hope he pushes for more research and more money and also continued good relations with your friends across the ocean. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I always thought highly of Tony Blair, but I think a change in leadership is good..........for both countries.

I'm also interested to watch how this progresses. I'm glad people in the UK got over saying he should focus on care of his sick son not on being prime minister. Every family has it's issues - doesn't mean dad shouldn't have the right to pursue this career interests.

WOW! That's wonderful for the spreading of CF awareness. All diseases seem to only get major attention & funding only after someone in 'power' either is directly affected or they choose to take a disease under their wing.

I hope that this will bring even more funding, awareness & reasearch to such a worthy cause, both in England and the US.

I should point out that G. Brown has to be elected first, the fact that there are at present no other challengers to him for the leadership of the Labour party, would probably mean he will win it. Labour leader = prime minister.
Oh did I mention he is Scottish.

yes I know he has to be elected but hopefully he will be and I actually think he will help. first of all for the publicity and secondly for research. Lets face it any funding where ever in the world has to be a good thing.
