Hi, I was wondering if anyone has the new model Vest. Is it similar to the older model? Are you happy with it? What is the difference between the chest vest and the full vest? Thank you for your comments.

I believe you are refering to the smaller vest, machine, that can come with a chest vest as opposed to the older full black vest. My 'two cents' I tried the blue chest vest and didn't like it. It almost made me aggitated and didn't seem to clear me out, my chest felt funny and I got a sore throat from it. I also wasn't sure how it was helping if it wasn't all over. I have heard differing opinions from CF institutions, some say it is good others say it isn't. I thought I had also heard, CFers were getting the fuller vest, not the small chest one. Now as far as the machine itself, I like the size and the ability to move it without the grunting as before. But I must say they aren't perfect. I have gone through three in two months, the first one lasted nine months, and since the replacements haven't been so great. Makes me a little nervous to leave town with it.

Wow thats amazing! You have had to replace the Hillenbrand "The Vest" three times! That is crazy! As far as I know they are the best producer.....Making me think twice about their product!Jake

Hi Denise,I didn't know that the blue vest was an option with the older model. Does the vest inflate in the back? I heard with the new model it does not with the chest vest. Thanks for your comment.

Hey! I have the old vest. I went away to college, so it was a real lifesaver, as far as chest pt. Anyway, how small is this new vest, in lbs.? Mary

I just got my vest about a month ago and I've had to replace it, and the second one that I got has the same problem. For some reason the connection in back for the adapter is loose. So if it's sitting the right way and the planets are alligned correctly it will turn on, but you have to cross your fingers. So I will be getting my third soon, as soon as I call them again.

I have the old vest maching (the 103 model) and that thing has lasted forever! My first one lasted for over 7 years with no problems at all. Finally it gave out and I got another that has been going strong. I'm surprised that the new, smaller model has so many problems. What sort of things go wrong with them? Anything other than the adapter being loose?Martha 29, CF
