On IV's 2 weeks and my lungs have gotten really sore?

Hey everyone im new to this forum and took me ages to try even find how to write this , anyway I have been in hospital for the past two weeks and usually I would be flying it lung function up and mad to get out of here im usually on tobramycin and taz ? and this time got a bug so was on more ivs , tobi , ceftcazdine, futrium, tecnoplanin , ok well my spelling is terrible for those, they also started me on orals rifamdin and futizium? and I had to be taken off those because I reacted really badly to them , but as I was saying im on iv's for two weeks now and my lungs have never ever felt so shitty , they are really sore to breath in and I duno if its muscular pains or in my lungs but I feel breathless when I walk and like I cant fill my lungs up to the top when I breath in , its almost stopping me from doing clearences im in for another week because my lung function was FVE1 59% and the want it to be back up in the 60s before im aloud leave, but I feel way worse than when I came in :/ really frustrating because im missing so much college aswell!! Also they told me 59% was terrible duno if there trying to scare me or is it really bad ?

I'm sorry this is frustrating for you. I've been in your position so many times. My question's to you is how long did you wait before being admitted? Were you on orals before hand? Do you know if you cultured anything out of the ordinary? That would help me narrow my response.

Hiya thanks for your reply , well you see I felt absolutely great didn't feel sick at all what so ever and came for a check up and gave a sputum but a week later they rang and found a strain of MRSA in my sputum , actually scared me a bit because never really had many bugs im colonized with pseudomonas for a long time now , but under control , so they asked me to come in to eradicate the MRSA , so it was even more frustrating and scary to think I almost felt the best I could feel and now im in here and feeling shit after 2 weeks ivs onto my third week now.

Aww...i'm sorry to hear that. Then probably what is going on is your lungs/ muscles are just sore from the meds. They're getting new stuff to them and fighting. I have battled with Aspergillius multiple times and whenever they restart the med for that, my lungs feel bad too. Sometimes too, i've found, that when I start a new med, it can shake up other things as well making me sick longer. Since you're still in the hospital, ask for a pain med if they can or even better find out if your hospital has an inpatient massage therapist to come to your room and give you a back massage. Mine does and it sounds like you could use and deserve one! Try not to stress too much, I know it's difficult. You'll bounce back soon. Good luck
