OT -- Comment Made about us as parents

This weekend a relative and her 3 month old had to spend the night at our house because of the blizzard in Denver and they couldn't catch a flight until Sunday. She commented to DH that she learned from our doing CPT on DS that babies aren't as fragile as they look and knew that she didn't need to be concerned when she vigorously burped her daughter. Hmmm, does that mean we're role models? <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

BTW, this was a GIANT baby -- she was in the 95th percentile for a 6 month old.

We used to get ALL kinds of comments from people who would see us (or hear us) doing Luke's CPT. I guess because he was so small they thought we were being too rough with him. The funny thing is, he used to always fall to sleep during it, so it must have felt good to him! Now he is bigger and people don't seem so shocked, but it is now that he minds it--he hates to be still. Thank God for the vest--he can't wiggle away from that. But he has learned which button to push to turn it off! And then will triumphantly yell "I done" even if is has been only 2 minutes!

You have to admit that when aggressive CPT is done it looks like you are hurting the person. Its important for people to know that its HOW the clapping is done (this would include burping, right.....slap too hard & ouch) that is the key to virtually painfree treatments.

I think you are role models BTW! It shows what a body can endure!
