So glad to hear that you are home. Josh had a nurse come over twice a day to give him an antibiotic shot when he was just over a year old and that was a big hassle, so I HEAR you.

Future note on Picc's:
* Adivan (sp?) - something to relax me, not sedate me.

* Hot packs to put on the site before hand, open the viens up.

* Shoot the site with lydicaine (sp?) to numb point of entry - it stings a little, but worth it in the long run.

* Find a picc line nurse that takes their time and doesn't try to rush it. I had one that liked to rush, and consequently would hit the nerves in my elbow - which exactly like being electricuted ! (they should know better when they are fishing around. ;-) )

I'm glad your little girl is home and doing much better. But keep a notebook on these tips for if /when there is a next-time. These steps will help it be less traumatic for her. It's helped me a lot!

Best wishes <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">
