I'd like to start a new thread that discusses everything about nebbing antibios for PA :
- I'm wondering what kind of nebulizer/compressor you are all using with Coly-Mycin ... The same one than with TOBI ?
- Do you all have extra neb parts and how do you all wash/sterilize your parts ? I have only one set of nebs that I wash after each use with soap and hot tap water. Rinse with hot tap water and leave it dry for 12 hours on a clean plate. I have never sterilized anything yet. Is it really necessary ? I mean the air we breathe is not at all sterile so is this overkill ?
- Does TOBI alter your voice ? Can anything help to minimize this (by rinsing with something?) ?
- What pumps do you all use before nebbing the antibios ? Ventolin/Symbicort/Spiriva (mine) ?
- I'm new to all this so I have SO many ?s. It seems that travelling is complicated with all of this nebbing ... Any hints ?
- Do you all work full time ? I work 38 hours a week and just for the fun of it, I counted how long it takes me to do all of my health things ... 4-4½ hours a day !!!
- Do you have PA in your sinuses ? I do. What do you all do for that (trt) ? I rinse with Tobramycin (IV liquid) in saline water (Neilmed).
- Will I always be on antibios ? My lung spec. says I'll have breaks, hard to believe. How will I feel after months of antibios (spit green?, taste bad?, lots of phlegm?, etc.) ? What to expect in the coming years ?
- Breathing techniques while nebbing ? Deep breath, hold, ... ?
- Do you all alternate Coly/TOBI ?
- Is PA a big concern or do you all think that the meds available do a good job ?
- Are the antibios a concern for our kidneys or our other organs if we neb ?
