Wow! I love them, what kind of camera are you using? You have a lot in focus there must have had your f/stop all the way up or close to it. I didn't have the greatest lighting on mine, so I was at 1/2sec. f/4.5 and had to take a half dozen pics before i got one where he was still long enough. I'm using a canon AE-1, and the only macro lenses I have now are on my 80-200mm and my 28-80mm lenses. I would like to get a macro specific lens.

That's a great image for 1/2 sec shutter speed, I can't handhold very slow these days. !/15 at best. Minolta maxxum 5D with a sigma 105 macro lens. F/11 but don't remember shutter speed. Getting 2 keepers out of 20 is normal for even the best photographers so don't feel alone in that area. I always photograph insects early in the morning.....there cooled off from the night before so their a lot more sluggish. Here's one from my archive of bug pics....maximum f/stop on it.

Jade, Those are gorgeous! Amazing detail on the bees.

I've always had a thing for bugs. My students always do a pen & ink study of bugs every year. Last year we even had an entire exhibit of bugs at the Audubon Center. One of my students took some fabulous pictures of bugs in his garden. Bugs are so cool.

Let's see some more sometime!
