My daughter had genetic testing for CF, and I was told
by the doctors that they found "polymorphisms". Does anyone know what these are?

I found this on Wikipedia:

In the biological sciences
Polymorphism (biology), having multiple alleles of a gene within a population, usually expressing different phenotypes.

This is what I found online:

"Polymorphism Difference in DNA sequence among individuals that may underlie differences in health. Genetic variations occurring in more than 1% of a population would be considered useful polymorphisms for genetic linkage analysis. See also: mutation"

So it basically sounds like two or more mutations of a gene, like in a person with CF.
