getting my port tommrow at noon.. Im scared out of my mind.. i know its not a "big deal" but its the biggest i ever had..any calming words?

i got one about 3 months ago, an i love it,i didnt want it i liked the picc lines,but they couldnt get one in so i had to get a port, if id known they were this good i would have got one a long time ago.i was scared too, but it went fast an easy. took like 30 or 40 mins, i think u will like it much better once u get it.

When I had to get mine I didn't want it either I felt just like you I was so scared too, but picc lines didn't work for me. Now that I have mine I love it I have had if for over 6 years and I am so glad I got it, it makes getting IV treatments so much easier no more poking around in you veins to get an IV started, I don't miss that at all. Once you get it, you will think to your self why was I so scared after all! And getting the port put in takes less then an hour and you can't feel anything well your getting it done. It will just be a little sore after wards and they will probably give you some pain meds. for that...
