Portacath Removal

I am in the hospital and yesterday I got the portacath in my left chest removed. Yesterday it was very tender. Today I can touch it with out hurting it to much so I was feeling it and it feels like theres a new port in it. I havent had a removal or port placed in about 10 years and dont remember much how it felt. I havent been able to talk to a doc yet and was wondering if anyone can give me any info if this is normal where it still kinda feels like somethings there.

I haven't had one removed, but I would expect that there will be a reasonable bit of scar tissue around the port location, along with some localized swelling.

Definitely ask the Dr, but I would expect that it will subside as your body heals.

As soon as I talk to a doc I will update.
I have researched everything I could find about
the way it feels after the removal but nothing really shows up.
Most people say theres nothing to it basically
and thats what I remember about the first one.
I want an xray to show me its not there. I was excited
to not worry about hurting it while playing basketball or paintball.
Also I had the port in 11 years and it hadnt worked for about 4 years now.
So maybe because it was in so long that the scarring underneath the skin will be more.

So heres the latest. I showed my lung specialist my port site and he felt it and immediately said that there was a port there. I am in shock at this point. He then read over the surgeon notes and he said that it said removal and nothing about a new port placement. So my lung specialist said at that point that it could possibly be scar tissue. I highly doubt that at this point. Too say it plainly I am pissed.
