while I'm waiting for my clonazepam to kick in, I thought I would just write down a thought that has been on my mind for a while.

I read a very interesting article the other day. It's about a quantum mechanic, and he was saying that hwen you use light to modify the trajectory of electrongs (Quantum computing)...you aren't actually creating a computer, instead you are hacking into systems that are already there.

In other words...this Universe is one big giant computer. What is it calculating? Collisions, vibrations between atoms....how your hair blows in the wind. See quantum mechanics is all about the probability of electrons, and where they might be in one instant. The universe is calculating those electrons to be at a certain place at a certain time to create our reality...

It makes me thing of the mind of god (or whatever you want to call it), and by using quantum computers, we are able to use a bit of his abilities, or it's ablities.

So where does that leave us? Obviously we aren't seperate from the universe....we are all made up of the same things. So is our fate determined? Are we just another part of one big calculation....with no free thought...or free will.

I read this book once....called Memnoch the Devil, by Anne Rice. It it she was saying that god create life and evolution to get an idea of where he came from. He hoped that through humans (and our spiritual) evolution he would find answers into his own being.

What do I think? I think we are the universe trying to express itself. The trees, the grass, the birds...us....we are the essence of what lies underneath. We are the Universe. It computed this. Why? Perhaps to experience the physical world...perhaps to get an idea of what it actually is.

It's funny, I was never religious...i thought organized religion was a crock...and that science was the only truth. However, through science I believe more in spirituality and just something more than what we percieve than before.

Regardless, it has made me appreciate life a lot more. Just think about it next time you take a walk in the park. The universe is alive...and we're part of it.

It's an amazing feeling

Here's my theory on the universe:
we are like a grain of sand on a beach (Life is a Beach, you know!), and each one of us gets suntanned, but some are more suntanned than others....anyway, there are other beaches in the universe, some with a nicer view of the ocean, some not.
There is NO calculation whatsoever to come up with a conclusion in regards to life, most everyone has their own concept.
One point, the heavens and the earth were made BEFORE computers, so I don't see how a computer can be a basis for such a theory.
I agree upon all beings have some connection to the same thing, but disagree with not having free thought, or free will. If we didn't have free will, I would not be posting this right now. (or it would be edited by the anti-free will aliens who are monitoring this! Or, the Administrators?)
Religion is a totally different opinion, not worth exploring, but science actually is trying to CONTRADICT religion.
Science would be easily explained as showing proof to theories.
Religion would be easily explained as having no proof to theories, but 'faith'.
Of course, if my statement turns into a religious debate, we can take it in the 'topic specific' section for further debate, but that would be a waste of time because the strongest thing about 'faith', is that no one can change another person's own 'faith'. (the best to offer is to "Influence".)
Though sometimes I actually worry about the universe, with global warming, etc. to 'unbalance' everything.

Hi Ender,

I hope you don't mind me asking, I noticed that you said you were
on Clonazepam. Is this something you regularly take? Is it to help
you sleep?

If you find my question too intrusive, my apologies, just ignore
it. Thanks
