Potassium supplements

Just curious, I was looking into different potassium supplements a while back and found that the U.S. only allows 99mg per tablet. Considering a person needs 3,000+ mg's a day, what would be the point in even trying to supplement. You would need about 30-40 tablets a day and thats virtually impossible to ingest. So I was checking into different sites to find some good sources of potassium. Here's what I found. On the other hand if you do choose to use a supplement, is there a better form of it to use...citrate/carbonate/gluconate???

Food Serving Potassium ...(mg's)
Banana 1 medium ...467
Potato, baked with skin 1 medium ...721
Prune juice 6 fluid ounces ...530
Prunes, dried 1/2 cup ...633

Orange 1 medium ...237
Tomato juice 6 fluid ounces ...400
Tomato 1 medium ...273
Raisins 1/2 cup ...598
Raisin bran cereal 1 ounce ...437
