Pregnancy and Vitamins

Hello everyone! I know that it is normally suggested that prenatal vitamins should be taken during pregnancy, and even in any child-bearing years as the first several weeks of pregnancy are very important in development of the fetus. I was just wondering if anyone was told to take any other vitamins while pregnant? We are thinking about possibly starting to try getting pregnant. Thanks for the help!

Hey Marisa.

My Cf and hig risk OB both agree and have me taking one prenatal in the morning and one CF (vitamax is what I take) vitamin at night. I just replaced one of my CF vitamins with a prenatal one. I started taking my prenatal the month that we started our first IUI process.

Hi Marisa,

I am currently going through fertility treatments. I take my regular vitamins (2 Source CF and 1 vitamin D) and I also take a prenatal vitamin. My CF docs have recently checked my vitamin levels to make sure that none were getting to high and they were all within a normal range. I would add a prenatal to whatever you currently take and have your doctors run some bloodwork to make sure everything is in a good range.

Hope this helps!

Before I started to conceive and throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding I took 1 prenatal vitamin and 1 ADEK. I normally take 2 ADEKS. It worked well for me and my vitamins stayed in a good range. That is what my CF center recommends - 1 and 1.
