Prenatal Testing

Hello,I am planning a second pregnancy after my first son was born with CF.I am really nervous about the testing that is done prenatally and wondered if anyone else could tell me what it was like? They are planning on giving me a Chorionic Villis Sampling test which will tell me in 2 weeks whether the baby has CF or not.The thought of the whole thing scares me and part of me wonders if I should not have any more children.I would really love to though as I think it would be nice for my son also to have a borther or sister, as well as wanting another child as well.So looking for a bit of advice from someone who has been through this already, I know that there is a 75% chance that the baby will not have CF but it is still making me feel nervous.RebekahMother to Matthew 10ths WCF

Just thought I'd add my imput here...REALLY look into the CVS. My drs. all advised against it because there is a much higher risk of miscarriage. There is the chance that the embryo can detach from the uterin (sp?) wall. The other way to be tested, although you have to wait longer for the test and the results, is an amnio. There is virtually no risk to the baby (to the best of my understanding), and it really isn't too bad (in the whold scheme of things) for the mommy.Good luck,Christie
