Emily uses Pulmacort when she is sick 3-4x/day. She is just a little older than Maggie; will be 9 in a few months and weighs a little under 50lbs. Her dose is .5mg/2ml.

Thak you Harriet, Maggie uses her pulmicort as a daily drug... She weighs 59.5 pounds.. Just wondering cause the dose has never been adjusted; of course I know drugs do have side effects and maybe the doc wants her on the lowest dose.

Emily uses Flovent twice a day by inhaler as her daily steroid; we added Pulmicort during one illness where she had really bad chest pain and croupy cough, wheezing, etc and got such good results- ever since we added it to her sick plan she hasn't needed Prednisone! But it doesn't surprise me it's a higher dose just used in that circumstance, since Emily gets really bad in that way only during illness and it tends to come on very suddenly; she goes to bed fine and the next morning wakes up 'honking' and can't draw a deep breath.
