Pulse-Ox reader

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a pulse-ox reader. The really tiny ones that the PT usually has you wear during the 6 minute walk test. I want to get one to wear during the day to check myself. And also for exercising (well when I can exercise again).

I don't mind paying for it if it means I will have one <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Thanks!!!

bittyhorse,
You can get them on line for about 300-800. They are pretty expensive. Your insurance should cover it. If they won't buy one, maybe you could rent one for a while. My company rented one for about a year and now I own it. They are nice to have but can become a little bit of an obsession, if you now what I mean.

I got mine online. You can google pulse ox monitor and it will bring up a lot of different sights. Best prices I found were on Amazon.com. Plus you can compare models on amazon and a few other sites. You can also get them at a local medicine shop, but they'll charge an arm and a leg. They have come down in price since I bought mine. I paid $300, and the same model now retails around $150. Hope that helps. Good luck.

I have the Nonin Sportstat if I'm not mistaken. It is the same model used for medical purposes but it is available without prescription, marketed for sports use. I go it from Rei.com I think.
