Question about donating blood

I've wondered this as well. I've always been told that we can't, but I'm a lab tech major and have been touring at the American Red Cross...they pretty much will take any blood that isn't from someone with certain viruses (HIV, Hepatitis, etc). They may not want our blood though b/c of all the medications we're on, but what we're on may not affect the use of our plasma or platelets. Good question.

They won't. It's an automatic deferral if you have CF. I tried to donate when I was in high school.
