Question about taxes

Does everyone in the US have to do there own taxes? I cant imagine that is the case, is there a threshold for earnings before you have to do your taxes. It just seems so complicated, especially for some of you here. LOL. Not that I am saying our tax system is any better in the UK.

We pay much less taxes vs. almost every other country in the western world. Plus you pay significantly less if you have healthcare costs like CF.

It can be cumbersome to do taxes, but at the end of the day, it's worth it. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

No, the majority of people in the US do not do there own taxes. There are independent as well as companies that are happy to help for a service fee. That being said, if you go in there ill prepared you aren't going to save as much money as if you come in there with your spreadsheets, etc.

We do our own taxes. Usually get tax software and it's pretty simple. My blind neighbor was telling me he went to H&R block last week and was told he'd get back about $1000. He said that's weird, last year I paid $500 and I'm earning more this year. Whoops! Someone else checked it and he owes $700. Good thing he questioned it.
