My odd mutation just got identified... It's R1283M. So far I have literally no info on this.

Just wanted to share!

Since I posted this, I've done some random internet searches and discovered that I'm not capable of understanding what they're saying!

This mutation is a missense mutation which I think means that one of the codons (the series of letters we all learned in middle school) is wrong, but wrong in a way that an amino acid is still created, but it's the wrong amino acid? And this means that I have a different protein than the intended? How does this work if the other mutation isn't a missense one?

---R1283M creates a Fok I site and can also be detected using some ASo's . ---

I have no idea what that means.

The other thing I've been able to figure out is that this is a Welsh mutation. I'm guessing this is the mutation I got from my Dad then, because he's 1/4 Welsh.

Sadly I can't remember my other mutation, so I'll have to update this after I look it up... All I remember is it starts with a W (real helpful right!)
