re: MSRA
I am a parent of a CF child.....I recently was hospitalized for surgery. My CF child came in the hospital to visit me while I was there. She stayed for sometime, climbing in my bed, walking around my semi-private room and wandered through the halls with me. Once I had been home from the hospital for about a week, I received a letter in the mail about possibly having contracted MRSA from another patient on my floor who infact had the germ.Because of my daughter being all through the hospital with me, her clinic decided we should have her tested along with me. The Doctor took swabs of our nostrils as well as the crease of our leg, by the groin. Our first initial tests came back negative...YEAH!, but we do have to do the swabs one more time....two weeks from our last tests. From what I understand, MRSA is very resistant to antibiotics.....a certain regime must be followed to rid the germ from the one infected. As for any bacteria that any one of us contract, wether it is MRSA or B-Cepacia......for most of us, they aren't so harmful and leave no lasting effects on our bodies, but to someone with CF, these germs/bacterias are a little more harmful.....I'm sure our second set of tests will come back negative as well. Well I must run.....take care and hope your friend is well <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
