So my general practitioner left the clinic she was at. Sad, but I went in to see the interim doc they have until the permanent replacement starts. I wish SHE was the replacement! I told her about what's been going on with me (bad depression, marriage issues, chronic fatigue and pain) and she is not messing around with this. She is testing me for arthritis, thyroid disease, anemia, diabetes, and other hormone imbalances that could cause this.

She wrote me a scrip for Zoloft. She wants me to start on a low dose and increase it if I tolerate it well. If I don't tolerate it we try something else, and something else, and something else if we have to. She is adament that I MUST be medicated AND see a therapist on my own if I am going to get better and not have a psychotic break. She flat out looked me in the eye and said "If you do not get this under control you WILL break soon." She gave me the name of a therapist that she refers a lot of people to. My precvious doc never even suggested councilling to me.

Honestly, I will probably end up leaving Brian since he has not been very willing to put any effort into saving out marriage. But first I have to get to a place where I will not feel like the worlds most terrible person if I leave and he kills himself.

I'm glad you had a good doctor visit and feel like you're headed in a good direction.

About the depression, yesterday Dr. Oz was saying how helpful Omega-3 is for stress and depression, so maybe you could add more of that to your diet too and see a difference. In his study they added certain fish 4x's a week. We don't eat much fish so I'd probably go w/ the Omega-3 gel-tab supplements.

Glad you have someone who wants to be on top of the issues. I too saw that about omega 3s on Oprah. Also, you need to be getting enough magnesium. (probably about 800 mg a day). Mg deficiency can cause a whole host of problems (including mental ones like anxiety). Getting adequate nutrition including the right supplements is really necessary to help improve your state of health. Good luck!

I take magnesium already for headaches, so that isn't an issue. I go to clinic on Oct 8th and will ask the dietician about Omega-3. I should start eating more fish, and so should hubby. We both love it, but it seems like I never have the time or energy took lately.
